AGM 2019 was held on May 31, 2019 with President Datuk Tan Chong Guan as Chairman. The meeting began with the Chairman welcoming all Members. This was followed by the presentation by Treasurer Khor Lee Fan on the Accounts for 2018 and Estimate of Revenue & Expenditure for 2019. Secretary Khairuddin Yahya continued with the Board Report for 2018 / 2019 .
As 2019 is an election year for the term 2019 / 2021, nominations were received for the nine Board positions. An election was held during the AGM and the following Board Members for 2019 / 2021 were elected.
After the AGM, the CEOs meeting commenced with the introduction of the inaugural Direct Seller Malaysia. This biannual DSAM publication aims to provide more information on the industry to our Members, Distributors and public. Malay and Chinese online versions of this publication will soon be available for Members.
The Seller’s Guide for e-Commerce Businesses was later presented. This Guide which was recently issued by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, states that selling any Direct Selling products or services is an offense under Section 19A of the Direct Sales and Anti-Pyramid Schemes Act 1993 (Act 500).
Later, the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA)’s Messaging Guidebook was reviewed. The purpose of this guide is provide to Members with a resource for developing content and messaging for their communications, a collection of practical language and wordings that have been proven effective through research and helping develop a consistent way to communicate.
Members are strongly encouraged to utilise the content of this Guide for communications within the company, media, Distributors and Consumers.
