Roundtable Discussion On Direct Selling in Vietnam

AmCham Vietnam’s Direct Selling Committee organised a ‘Roundtable Discussion on Direct Selling in Vietnam’ on 6th December 2012. In co-operation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade / Vietnam Competition Administration Department (VCAD-MoIT), and supported by WFDSA, the objectives of this event were to provide a clearer picture of direct selling, both from global and Vietnamese perspectives. DSAM was invited to present a preview of the modal of Direct Selling in Malaysia, its regulations and media relations.

Direct Selling In Vietnam is regulated by the Decree 110/2005. Amendments to this Decree is expected in 2013. From 2006 to 2011, the industry saw a 600% growth in Sales. For the period of 2011-2012, sales is estimated to be approximately USD200 million. As at September 2012, there are 52 registered Direct Selling companies, mainly in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
